Description
Staging History explored how history was told on stage in Regency-era Britain. Exploration, revolution and patriotism took centre stage, as the exhibition examined the influence of history and historical events in the writing and staging of theatre, opera and drama from 1780-1840. The exhibition featured beautiful set designs, theatrical documents and illustrations from collections held at the Bodleian Library and other institutions.
