intriguing glimpse into · 16th-century life in the Granite City.
An online database created by the Aberdeen Burgh Records project, which was launched yesterday, investigates the city's ancient Unesco recognised council registers. The documents record the business of the local government, and are mainly made up of court activity.
Dr Jackson Armstrong, who is leading the project alongside Dr Andrew Mackillop, both of Aberdeen University's history department, said the papers give a ''real feeling" of what life in the 1530s was like in Aberdeen.
