Description

The Grampian Data Safe Haven (DaSH) was opened in May 2012 by NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen’s College of Life Sciences and Medicine. The joint facility is our response to National guidance to improve the safe handling of linked public data sets for research.

Using electronic health data for research is important means of understanding the factors that influence health and disease over the course of life. DaSH facilitates safe access to Scottish population data for linkage studies while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of security and governance, and ensuring patient confidentiality is protected.
