Research Profile

Principal research interests are in the areas of health economics and well-being, labour economics transport economics and open economy macroeconomic modelling.

Teaching Responsibilities:

David served on the Quality Assurance Agency for Scotland’s Enhancement Themes Steering Committee for the First Year Experience Enhancement Theme. He is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, and an Associate of the Economics Network. He has received three awards recognising excellence in teaching: the HEA Economics Network 2006 E-learning Award, the 2009 (student-nominated) College of Arts and Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the 2011 Student Nominated Teaching award from the Economics Network. He is a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) Learning, Teaching and Student Experience (LTSE) Committee and a CABS Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE).
