The paper is devoted to the solution of the 3-D fracture mechanics problem for linearly elastic, homogeneous and isotropic solid with the penny-shaped crack with an initial opening under normally incident harmonic tension-compression wave. The problem is solved with allowance for the crack faces contact interaction. The distribution of the contact forces is studied. The solution is compared with corresponding one obtained without allowance for the contact interaction for various values of the initial opening.
