Abstract

A unique camera and replay system was specifically designed for recording marine plankton in situ using both in-line and off-axis hologram techniques simultaneously. Care was taken to minimize the effects of distortion arising from the refractive index change. Data was extracted from the holograms without manual intervention using this computer controlled, fully automated reply machine and image processing and analysis systems.
