A simplified thermal treatment of fireballs

Abstract

A simple means of estimating fireball temperatures, for particular sizes of leakage, is developed on the basis of the use of a previously existing plot of radiation heat transfer against time as a "template." Such calculations are performed for large and small propane fireballs.
