A Study on Finding Factors to Improve Reading Skills Among Primary Classes Which in Vengala Cheddikulam Division

Abstract

Reading is one of the main skills in Language studies. It is the best way to improve our Language Knowledge and build our Vocabulary levels. Nowadays most of the students facing many challenges because of a lack of knowledge in their 2nd Language which is English. It molds the children into readers, which increases their academic studies. In this research work, we have identified the problems which are faced by the students while reading English and what are mistakes made by the students while reading. At the same time, we have applied nine factors to develop the students’ reading skills. After Appling those factors, we have evaluated the students’ Pronunciation, Fluency, Vocabulary and Literacy skills using three levels of examination. In the overall analysis of the data, students who have selected for the research showing 26% of the improvement of their reading skills after applying those nine factors to improve reading skills. This study will use for the teachers and the students who face challenges while teaching English at primary level students and who get troubles in learning English.
