Abstract

Opioid-free anaesthesia aims improving postoperative analgesia and peroperative haemodynamic stability without the opioids side effects. Magnesium is a NMDA blockers acting posibly synergistically with ketamine. Magnesium administration reduces opioid demand, improves postoperative pain control and peroperative haemodynamic stability. Magnesium can be used as an adjuvant during opioid-free anaesthesia.
