Abstract
Preparative RP-HPLC analysis of a methanol extract of the seeds of Rosa canina yielded kaempferol 3-O-(6"-O-E-p-coumaroyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside and kaempferol 3-O-(6"=O-Z-p-coumaroyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside. Structures of these compounds were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses. Bioactivity, i.e., antibacterial and antioxidant activity and general toxicity, of these compounds were also determined.
