Abstract
This book provides theoretical and practical solutions to the liabilities and damages that might result from the implementation of onshore geological carbon capture and storage activities. Its theoretical model is derived from liability and accident models taken from the law & economics literature. It also reviews historical antecedents. A variety of liability rules, regulatory options, and compensation mechanisms are rated and evaluate for comparable levels of welfare efficiency. The book provides implementable recommendations for policy makers and legislators.
