Abstract
We read with interest the Review by Sauvaget and colleagues1 on challenges to prevent breast and cervical cancer in Japan, and their proposed recommendations to overcome them. While we wholeheartedly agree with all the recommendations put forward, we would like to suggest two more—namely, the inclusion of human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling in screening programmes for non-responders, and a school-based cervical cancer education programme.
