Abstract

A compositional model for C-S-H(I) is proposed which takes account of the available structural evidence and is applied to solubility data for gels of known Ca/Si ratios in the approximate range 1. 0 to 1. 4. This composition range does not encompass the full range found in Portland cement pastes but may be applicable to certain blended cements, especially those into which a siliceous additive has been incorporated so as to lower the Ca/Si ratio to 1. 4.
