Abstract
Optimal survival of motile, morphologically normal spermatozoa is essential to allow the least invasive treatment when cryopreserved semen issued for assisted conception. Pre-freeze separation of spermatozoa from the seminal plasma may be beneficial. We aimed to evaluate the effect of separating spermatozoa from the seminal plasma by centrifugation through a PurespermTM (Nidacon, Sweden) density gradient, before and after freezing,on sperm motility and the proportion of spermatozoa with normal morphology.
