Abstract

These papers were originally presented at a session of the group on the History of the Study of Religion at the November, 1988 meetings of the American Academy of Religion in Chicago. The session was co-ordinated by Robert Segal and chaired by Ivan Strenski of the University of California at Santa Barbara. The papers discuss: Eric Sharpe, Comparative Religion: A History. First ed.: La Salle, Illinois: Open Court Publishing Company, 1986. (The second edition keeps unaltered the first, including pagination, and simply adds a chapter and a bibliographical supplement.)
