Abstract

We are delighted to introduce this special section of JCN, which aims to raise issues with a bearing on the nature and quality of quantitative research in the context of nursing and health care. This journal issue comprises a collection of papers, each of which highlight important aspects or ideas for researchers about to embark on research of a quantitative nature. We believe these papers will provide a useful and practical resource for nursing and other healthcare researchers as well as postgraduate students in health-related disciplines. Whilst this issue is aimed at a specialist audience, we hope that undergraduate nurses would find some of the content of interest.
