title = "Emerging areas within the accounting curriculum",
abstract = "This chapter investigates changes that are occurring in the accounting curriculum and the factors that are driving these changes. It does so by taking a snapshot of accounting education in 21 different countries from around the world. The result of this analysis is an image of change driven in many instances by changes in accounting regulation, by the requirements of the accounting profession, and by changes in the environment in which accounting operates. A sense of a common driving force is found in many cases, although national efficiency drivers are noticeable factors in some cases.",
