Abstract
The expert forum organized by the VDI Society for Energy and Environment (VDI-GEU) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) was dedicated to the discussion of the development and use of efficiency technologies and measures in cities and industry, as well as their technical, economic and ecological assessment. The present conference volume highlights the upcoming challenges and opportunities for industry and cities, and contains various contributions on the subject.
