Abstract

In most western democracies, voter turnout is in the past declined significantly (Blais 2000, Franklin 2004). This trend is also in Austria (Aichholzer et al 2014, Kritzinger et al., 2013). Next democratic problems of legitimacy that occur through low voter turnout Declining turnout can also have significant consequences for that Government action and the resulting policy outcomes (Fowler 2013). It is therefore a central issue for political science research, such as the Voters can be moved to participate in elections.
