Abstract
In Eurasia there are several ecological forms, subspecies, and breeds of reindeer. Areas of domesticated
reindeer breeds do not correspond to areas of subspecies but are closely connected with types of reindeer
herding. The most sustainable herding is associated with central zones of each breed area.
