Abstract
"The question arises several times: what does Röpke's "third way" have to do with the Hungarian "third way", i.e. István Bibó and the folk writers? Perhaps more doctoral dissertations on this subject could be written by cultural historians who are patient and love to read." (Röpke, 2000: 126) - the editor of a Hungarian Röpke selection recently wrote. Emboldened by this proposal, I will further consider my previous findings on Bibó's view of socialism and capitalism below (Cserne, 2002). More precisely, relying on them in part, in parallel with them, I will try to present some of the main features of Wilhelm Röpke's oeuvre, which may be important for comparison with Bibó's thoughts...
