Abstract

Meta-analysis is firmly established in clinical evaluation studies. There is consensus on how meta-analysis should be performed for therapy, which is evident from the more or less uniform method of presentation in the Cochrane Collaboration. The method for meta-analysis of diagnostic testing is not so firmly established. However, increasing uniformity has appeared in the method since the first publications appeared in 1993. This trend will certainly continue in the years to come. The article deals with these methods.
