Presents an approximate analytical treatment of parametric amplification and oscillation in fluxgate sensors. The technique may be viewed as an extension of the method of Serson and Hannaford (1956), and contrasts with the numerical methods of Russell and co-workers (1983). Some numerical tests of the analytical results are presented.
