Abstract

The title compound, C4H12N22+ center dot 2H(2)AsO(4)(-), contains a network of doubly protonated piperazinium cations ( lying on centres of inversion) and dihydogenarsenate anions. The component species interact by way of cation- to- anion N H center dot center dot center dot O and anion- to- anion O - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, the latter leading to infinite sheets of ( H2AsO4)(-) anions.
