Abstract

The title compound, C(3)H(12)N(2)(2+)center dot SeO(3)(2-)center dot H2O, contains a network of propane-1,2-diaminium (C3H12N22+) cations, selenite (SeO32-) anions and water molecules. The crystal packing involves N-H center dot center dot center dot O [average H center dot center dot center dot O = 1.89 angstrom, N-H center dot center dot center dot O = 165 degrees and N center dot center dot center dot O = 2.777 (3) angstrom] and O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a layered structure.
