Abstract

The book under review is a selection of Maths Masters weekly columns from Melbourne’s newspaper Age. It is the second collection after A Dingo Ate My Math Book, from 2017 (reviewed in the summer 2019 issue of this journal). The present set is divided into seven thematic parts and comprises sixty-four essays. The guiding idea for each column is to present a mathematical gem or idea in a way not only accessible to a wide audience but also in the form of a witty newspaper column and often with allusions to current events. Each essay ends with a puzzle for the reader to ponder.
