Abstract

We recently published a pioneering synthesis study of plant thermal macrophysiology (1), revealing global patterns that are in agreement with the main patterns known from animals, as well as with expectations from theory (2, 3). Perez et al. (4) criticize our study, primarily on the basis that differences in experimental protocol across studies, particularly in duration of heat tolerance experiments, may impact our inferences.
