Abstract

This paper considers the possibilities and problems associated with trying to secularise mindfulness. Consideration is given to the ubiquity of mindfulness in wisdom traditions (both enchanted and naturalistic) and it is proposed that too rigidly held a perspective in any of these may be mindless and a barrier to the awareness that mindfulness espouses.
