Abstract

This, the second part of a two-part article discussing Owens (Jordan) v HM Advocate (HCJ Appeal) on whether a punishment part of 23 years on a sentence of life imprisonment for murder involving the use of a firearm was excessive, compares sentencing practice in Scotland and in England & Wales.
