Abstract

Maternal lifestyle predisposes offspring to disease. More
Scottish expectant mothers are overweight (BMI25) or obese (BMI30)
than of a healthy weight (BMI<25). Children born to overweight mothers
are more likely to develop metabolic and psychiatric disorders.
