Abstract

The Smartrawl eye is a vision-based AI technique fitted to fishing trawls, enabling the detection and identification of fish species. Combined with other elements of the Smartrawl, this “eye” can contribute to eliminate discards and bycatch, which are a global problem threatening fisheries sustainability.
