Abstract

This paper is the 10th report of the TaxonomicSub-Committee of the BOU Records Committee. Species-level decisions are based on criteria out-lined by Helbig et al. (2002). The ninth report of the Sub-Committee was published by Sangsteret al. (2013).
Recommendations in this report fall into five categories: (1) recognition of higher taxa not recognized by Voous (Paroidea); (2) changes in generic allocation (Melanocorypha leucoptera,Calandrella rufescens); (3) changes in the taxonomic sequence of species (Alaudidae,Prunella); (4) changes in species limits ( Struthiocamelus, Thalassarche cauta, Poecile lu gubris, Phyl-loscopus tenellipes, Sylvia cantillans, Oenanthe lu-gens, Passer italiae); and (5) changes in nomenclature (Sylvia cantillans molt onii).
