The non-linear mechanical behaviour of high performance refractories

Abstract

Many refractory materials exhibit non-linear stress-strain behaviour. In this paper a micromechanical model is developed which predicts the stress-strain response of commercially available refractories. This model is then used to predict microstructures which should display enhanced non-linear behaviour.
