Abstract

Web-based applications making use of human participants to
support data acquisition and problem-solving tasks present
many challenges in areas such as privacy, trust and data
quality. We discuss progress towards the creation of a social
computation ecosystem, the characteristics of which have
been influenced by our experience across a range of application domains.
