Abstract

Abstract: In the second of two papers on the recognition and management of potential medical emergencies that may occur in the dental clinic setting, the development of new algorithms to assist in making it easier for members of the dental team to recognize and treat such situations will be discussed. Used in conjunction with the M-DEWS2 scoring sheet as discussed in the first paper, these algorithms cover the eight common medical emergencies that may occur in dental practice.
CPD/Clinical Relevance: All members of the dental team require the appropriate skills and knowledge to manage medical emergencies
should they occur.
