Abstract
This multi-authored report, which was edited by Karen Milek, contains the results of the 2008 field season at Vatnsfjörður, northwest Iceland, as well as specialist reports on the ongoing artefactual, zooarcheaological, archaeoentomological, micromorphological, and archaeobotanical analyses. On the Viking Age part of the site, the upper phases of a medieval animal building with a stone pavement were excavated (Structure 7), as well as two large cooking pits, a poorly preserved building that probably had a wooden floor (Structure 8), and associated sheet middens. On the Farm Mound, post-abandonment layers associated with the demolition of the 1884-1907 house were excavated, producing over 1600 artefacts.
