Veni Sponsa Christi: A Motet for SATB Choir and Echo Choir

Research output: Non-textual formComposition

Abstract

Veni Sponsa Christi is a setting of the Antiphon for the Virgin Mary most well know in the setting by Palestrina. My work uses an ‘echo’ choir of SATB soloists who are placed away from the main choir and provide an echo or reverberation of the material initially sung by the main choir – as the work progresses the echo choir become more involved until a fully antiphonal ‘Alleluia’ utilises all the choral forces.
