Abstract

The purpose of this report is to examine trends in the use of informal and formal care provision at home and in the care home sector before and after the introduction of free personal care (FPC) to individuals aged 65 years or over in Scotland from July 2002. In addition, it examines the costs to the Scottish Executive that have arisen following the introduction of FPC.
