Abstract

In Mark 4 Jesus and his disciples leave the crowd, and. cross the Sea of Galilee at night. During their boat journey a great storm arises, and waves beat into the boat so that it fills with water. The disciples wake Jesus, and he stills the storm. The disciples cross the Sea of Galilee in order to take their mission to new areas, and the boat journey acts as a metaphor for discipleship.
