Abstract
The title compound, aqua(hydrogen trioxoselenato)(trioxoselenato) yttrium(III) monohydrate, which is isostructural with its samarium(III) and neodymium(III) analogues, contains YO8, SeO3 and HSeO3 coordination polyhedra, which fuse together by corner- and edge-sharing, resulting in a layered structure. A network of O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds helps to consolidate the crystal packing.
