A successful academic journal is the product of the efforts of a multiprofessional team including the publisher – which includes the administrative and production staff – the editor, the peer reviewers, the authors and of course the readers. Each member of the team has a very clear role and apart from the reader is working within an acknowledged framework that ensures that as far as is possible every article presents something original, of interest to the reader, in a clear and unbiased way such that the reader can have confidence in what he or she reads.
