Biography

Ali joined the University of Aberdeen as a lecturer in Management Studies in 2018. He is an empirical researcher working on a range of topics in corporate governance, firm policies, CEOs and the policy implications of Big Data. Currently, his research follows three broad themes: 1) CEOs and how their characteristics, values and abilities shape different firm decisions. 2) The impact of formal and informal institutions on corporate governance practices and firm strategic decisions. 3) Digitisation as a driving force in the transformation of governance and management in business organisations and cities.

He holds an MSc and PHD in Business and Management from Alliance Manchester Business School.
