Research Profile

I specialise in Postwar French poetry, with particular interest in visual-verbal dynamics and the interactions between poetry and philosophy. I also work on place, memory, exile, bilingualism and biculturalism in literature. In my monograph (under contract), I approach these issues chielfy through the work of Welsh-French poet Heather Dohollau (born 1925). I have also published on other contemporary French poets, namely André du Bouchet, Marie-Claire Bancquart and Béatrice Bonhomme.
