    Research Profile

    I hold a Chair in the School of Engineering within the College of Physical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, UK. I participate in the teaching activities of the School, in taught courses, laboratory activities and undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision. Over the years, I have presented various undergraduate courses (these include a popular web-based Communications Engineering course)

    I conduct my research in in Internet Engineering within the Electronics Research Group (ERG), where I also contribute to the Internet Engineering Task Force, with a focus on Internet and Transport Protocols. My research protocol design, large-scale measurement, the effects of encryption on the architecture, and work on IP-based architecture for satellite systems. This research also includes Digital Video Broadcast standards for data transmission and satellite broadand access.
