Biography
Lorraine is a Lecturer in IEMDS, where she has worked since 2009. Lorraine qualified as a registered nurse in 1989 from Ealing Hospital, West London and has gained over 30 years of nursing experience in various areas of clinical practice (largely in critical care and advanced nursing practice). Lorraine moved to the University of Aberdeen in 2009 to take a lead role in the development of new clinical placements for medical students in the first 3 years of the undergraduate medical programme. She completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (Medical Education) in 2013. Lorraine’s current role encompasses various aspects of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education teaching (including the MBChB and PA programme programmes). She is also a UK resuscitation council instructor. Lorraine is a course coordinator for the Masters in Clinical Education programme and she supervises master’s project students. Lorraine is also the academic project manager for the MBChB Year 4 curriculum implementation project.
