Abstract

On the cover of Myers and Colwell’s Our God is Undocumented, men gather behind a high fence, holding crosses. They are enacting the traditional Mexican celebration of Las Posadas, playing the part of the Holy Family as they seek shelter in Bethlehem. In a typical Posada, Maria, Jose, and Jesus are refused a place to stay until one household at last recognizes the “holy pilgrims” and gives them a corner to sleep in.
