Abstract

This concluding chapter goes through the nine previous chapters in turn, highlighting key points from each. The first chapter outlined the UK and EU fishing industries, the second and third discussed the impact and key provisions of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the UK and the EU. The fourth discusses various bilateral and trilateral fishing negotiations between the UK, EU and Norway. The fifth, sixth and seventh chapters take a national approach, looking at the UK’s Fisheries Act, and international obligations in fisheries enforcement and environmental protection, respectively. The eighth chapter discusses the UK’s role in international fisheries management post-Brexit. The ninth chapter outlines the opinion of key experts on various topics around fisheries and Brexit based on a workshop organised by the editors.
