Abstract

This article discusses the anatomy of the hoof and biomechanical function; effect of feeding system, dietary management and subacute acidosis on the incidence of lameness; and the influence of amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, minerals and vitamins on the hoof health and composition of dairy cattle.
