Abstract

We thank Profs Weaver, Dawson-Hughes, Lappe and Wallace for their reply [1] to our letter [2] which pointed out errors in their updated meta-analysis for the National Osteoporosis Foundation [3]. Their updated meta-analysis examined calcium plus vitamin D supplementation and risk of fracture [3]. We thank them for providing some clarifications in their published erratum, explaining how they used per protocol analyses and undertaking some corrections in their additional analyses [4].
