Abstract

The authors discuss implementation aspects of the inter-flow and intra-flow network coding (NC) schemes within the LTE and LTE-A protocol stack. It is proposed that the NC schemes are implemented at the MAC layer of the protocol stack where their energy consumption gains, the delay and throughput gains, and the transmission resources savings are demonstrated by computer simulations.
